Gary Mathews (1958–2020) was a visionary leader, mentor, and financial strategist who co-founded National Wealth Management Group (NWMG) in 2015 and served as its CEO until 2020. With over 35 years in financial services, Gary dedicated his life to helping others pursue financial clarity and lasting success.
His career began in 1986 with First American National Securities, specializing in portfolio management and financial coaching. He later held leadership roles at World Financial Group, mentoring advisors and shaping client-centric strategies that continue to guide our firm today.
In 2008, Gary, FOUNDED HIS OWN FIRM WITH HIS WIFE VIVIENNE SCHLEU, CPA, seeking greater autonomy to better serve clients. That vision became National Wealth Management Group, NWMG, an independent SEC Registered Investment Advisor, built on efficiency, integrity, and client empowerment.
Gary was known for his sharp mind, kind heart, and belief in the power of planning with purpose. His legacy lives on through the culture and values of NWMG. We remain committed to his mission: helping people discover meaning in both money and life.
